Description
A Silver color and metal enamel device consisting of a shield blazoned: Per bend dancetté Gules and Argent five shellbursts three and two counterchanged. Attached below and to the sides of the shield a Silver scroll inscribed “ASSISTANCE TO ALL” in Red letters.
Symbolism
Scarlet and white are the colors of the Corps of Engineers. The zigzag partition line represents the Siegfried Line. The shellbursts symbolize the five battle honors awarded the organization for service during World War II.
Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 2 March 1956.
