A Silver color metal and enamel device consisting of a shield blazoned: Argent, on a pale bretessed Gules a fountain surmounted by a bayonet palewise point up, blade Sable and grip of the first. Attached below and to the sides of the shield a Red scroll inscribed "REINFORCE AND DESTROY" in Silver letters.
Red and white are the colors associated with the Engineer Corps. The embattled pale symbolizes the mission of the Engineers. The fountain, a heraldic symbol for water, represents the unit's home area, Houston. The bayonet represents the unit's battle honors and decorations.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 16 December 1982.
